Activities

While you're here, why not try one or two of the numerous other activities available in Cabarete or the surrounding area? The options and variety are almost endless. Besides windsurfing, you can enjoy other water-based sports, land-based sports, or various excursions or tours. Some of these are available right from our Surf Station. If not, the Cabarete Windsports Club staff would be happy to arrange them on your behalf.

Surfing & Boogie Boarding

When swell conditions are quite big, you can actually surf or boogie board just steps away from our Surf Station, at Bozo Beach. But for the real surfing action, Playa Encuentro , just a five minute drive from Cabarete, is definitely the place to be. Playa Encuentro offers the best surfing conditions on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.

Rafting

River rafting is done on the El Jague del Norte River , near Jarabacoa , which is located in the ‘Dominican Alps'. Trips are offered with different degrees of difficulty. Stages of these trips are playfully named and include sections with names like ‘More?', ‘Mother-in-Law', and ‘Mike Tyson'. Rafting through these river canyons provides you with an incredibly exciting way to see this country's natural beauty.

Canyoning

Have you ever gone canyoning? These unique and adrenaline raising trips have you hiking through lush forests, as well as jumping and rappelling into natural, clear water spring pools. There is no other way to see this type of geography and natural beauty. This is an experience not to be missed!

Diving & Snorkeling

Just a 15 minute drive west from Cabarete you'll find Sosua, one of the best places to snorkel and dive on the North Coast. The abundance of marine life in these clear turquoise waters will inspire you to go deeper.

Ocean Kayaking

Ocean kayaking is another great way to experience the waters of Cabarete Bay. When the swell is big, kayaking on the outside reef can provide some wave excitement. Ocean Kayaks are available to Cabarete Windsports Club guests, free of charge, for one hour per day (based on availability).

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding trips are offered for inexperienced and expert level riders. You can gallop along the beach, or ride into the lush, tropical back country areas behind Cabarete. This is a fun and unique way to discover areas around Cabarete you might otherwise not have a chance to see.

Mountain Biking

Cabarete is almost as famous for mountain biking as it is for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Trips range from beginner level rides, to all day or overnight rides into the Cordillia Central mountain range, where heights reach over 3000 meters (over 10,000 feet). Trails are as various and challenging as can be found almost anywhere in the world.

Moto-crossing

Moto-crossing adventures are increasingly popularity because they combine the thrill of moto-cross riding through challenging trails, with the ability to see beautiful beaches and tropical forest areas while you ride.

Funny Bikes

Funny bike tours take you on four-wheel bikes through various regions not accessible by other vehicles. You can ride through sugar plantations, small Dominican villages, river and lagoon areas, and so much more.

Volleyball

Cabarete WINDSPORTSCLUB has a beach volleyball net right on site. Games are usually played when guests are waiting for stronger wind or after a great day of windsurfing. Every sunday there is a volleyball tournament and this is a great way to meet other Cabarete WINDSPORTSCLUB  guests.

Excursions & Tours

Excursions and tours are available to discover both the incredible nature and the unique culture that can be found in the Dominican Republic - nature parks, tropical plantations, lagoons, museums, art galleries, shopping tours in the larger cities, etc. Just let Cabarete WINDSPORTSCLUB  staff know what you are interested in seeing/doing during your visit, and they'll help make the arrangements for that particular excursion/tour.
